Veterans United Home Loans Receives Employer Support Freedom Award | Local
Members of the Missouri Committee of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve and the Missouri National Guard presented Veterans United Home Loans with the Secretary of Defense’s Employer Support Freedom Award on Monday.
These members acted on behalf of Secretary of Defense Mark T. Esper, who named the Columbia-based mortgage lender as one of 15 award recipients this year, according to a press release from Veterans United.
The award recognizes organizations that go beyond what federal law requires by providing employment and support to current and former military personnel, the statement said. The statement said the company has received numerous accolades from Forbes, Fortune magazine and Military Friendly for its generous benefits for military employees.
According to an ESGR press release, Veterans United was nominated for the award by Adam Craig, who serves as a senior master sergeant in the Missouri Air National Guard. There were a total of 2,623 applications.
“After my promotion to E-8, Veterans United asked my spouse and kids to record a surprise video saying how proud they were of me,” Craig said in the ESGR press release. “They then released the clip at their National Military Appreciation Dinner.”
“We appreciate everything ESGR does to support our military personnel across the country and we are honored to receive this award,” said Veterans United CEO Nate Long. “We will continue to do all we can to support the Guards and Reservists in our Veterans United family.
